Tradition, Diversity, Change as integral components of the cultural identities and traditions of the Alpine regions. This also means acknowledging immigration as an integral part of cultural identity within the tension between tradition and openness.
Preserving traditions while opening them up to immigrants is just as much a component of integration as the majority society's openness to the culture of newly arrived individuals. For immigrants, this openness means that while preserving their traditions, they engage with the customs and realities of the country, actively addressing and embracing them. By combining established and newly introduced diversity, the Alpine regions provide a home for all people living here to lead self-determined lives. As a result, the Alpine countries enable social and cultural diversity to flourish in freedom, mutual respect, and mutual appreciation.
Initial and Follow-up Project: Building upon the outcomes of the first project, the follow-up project was designed as a participatory process to actively involve the population. The planned measures are aligned with the focal points of the ARGE ALP in the field of integration. This involves interpreting tradition as something that is not only passed down but also subject to change.
Mission:
The project aims to uncover the diversity, adaptability, openness, and cross-border nature of traditions in order to counter an outdated understanding of tradition. It also seeks to illuminate the role of traditions in the process of integration and how significant they are for identifying with the society one lives in. Traditional, migrant, and cultural associations, experts, stakeholders, influencers from the fields of culture and integration, as well as museums, will be invited to participate in the project activities. Moderated dialogues and the creation of a museum circuit with video installations are planned across all partner regions.
Spotlight: The Journey of Objects
Objects can hold significant importance when they are connected to essential memories, shared experiences, shared values, moments, and traditions. The project aims to put people at the center: starting from an object, they will narrate the significance of their experiences.
The Journey of Objects In collaboration with the Women's Museum Merano, Museo degli Usi e Costumi della Gente Trentina, Rätisches Museum, Salzburg Museum, Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum, Vorarlberg Museum, and the School for Documentary Film, Television, and New Media ZeLIG, the museum circuit titled "The Journey of Objects" will be realized.
The simultaneous opening of the museum circuit will take place across all museums around the International Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, also known as World Day for Cultural Diversity or World Day for Cultural Development, on May 21, 2024.
Tradition, Vielfalt, Wandel als integrale Bestandteile der kulturellen Identitäten und Traditionen der Alpenregionen. Das bedeutet auch, Einwanderung als integralen Bestandteil der kulturellen Identität im Spannungsfeld von Tradition und Offenheit anzuerkennen.
Traditionen zu pflegen und für Zugewanderte zu öffnen, ist genauso Element der Integration wie die Offenheit der Mehrheitsgesellschaft gegenüber der Kultur der neu Zugewanderten. Diese Offenheit bedeutet für die Zugewanderten, dass sie unter Bewahrung ihrer Traditionen sich auf die Gepflogenheiten und Lebensrealitäten des Landes einlassen und sich damit produktiv auseinandersetzen. In der Verbindung von bewährter und neu ins Land gebrachter Vielfalt bieten die Alpenraumregionen allen hier lebenden Menschen Heimat fur ein eigenverantwortliches Leben. Dadurch ermöglichen die Alpenländer, soziale und kulturelle Vielfalt in Freiheit und Respekt voreinander und gegenseitiger Wertschätzung zu leben.
Start- und Folgeprojekt: Aufbauend auf den Ergebnissen des ersten Projekts wurde das Folgeprojekt als partizipativer Prozess konzipiert, um die Bevölkerung aktiv einzubeziehen. Die geplanten Maßnahmen orientieren sich an den Schwerpunkten der ARGE ALP im Integrationsbereich. Dazu gehört, Tradition als etwas zu interpretieren, das nicht nur überliefert, sondern auch verändert wird.
Zielsetzung:
Mit dem Projekt soll aufgedeckt werden, wie vielfältig, wandelbar, offen und grenzüberschreitend Traditionen sind, um einem antiquierten Traditionsbegriff entgegenzuwirken. Auch soll beleuchtet werden, welche Rolle Traditionen im Integrationsprozess spielen und wie bedeutend sie für die Identifikation mit der Gesellschaft, in der man lebt, sind. Zur Teilnahme an den Projektaktivitäten werden Traditions-, Migrant:innen- und Kulturvereine, Expert:innen, Akteur:innen, Multiplikator:innen aus den Bereichen Kultur und Integration und Museen eingeladen: Geplant sind moderierte Dialoge und die Erstellung eines musealen Parcours mit Videoinstallationen in allen Partnerregionen.
Spotlight: Die Reise der Gegenstände
Gegenstände können von großer Wichtigkeit sein, wenn diese mit wesentlichen Erinnerungen verbunden sind, an gemeinsam Erlebtes, an geteilte Werte und Momente, an Traditionen erinnern. Das Projekt möchte die Menschen in den Mittelpunkt stellen: sie erzählen, ausgehend von einem Gegenstand, von der Bedeutung ihrer Erfahrung.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Frauenmuseum Meran, Museo degli Usi e Costumi della Gente Trentina, Rätisches Museum, Salzburg Museum, Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum und Vorarlberg Museum und der Schule für Dokumentarfilm, Fernsehen und Neuen Medien ZeLIG wird der museale Parcours: Die Reise der Gegenstände realisiert.
Die gleichzeitige Eröffnung des musealen Parcours wird in allen Museen rund um den Internationalen Tag der kulturellen Vielfalt für Dialog und Entwicklung, auch Welttag der kulturellen Vielfalt oder Welttag für kulturelle Entwicklung genannt, am 21. Mai 2024 stattfinden.
